F-TEC are now a registered IPAF Training Centre. The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide in the widest sense – through providing technical advice and information; through influencing and interpreting legislation and standards; and through safety initiatives and training programmes.
IPAF is a not-for-profit organisation owned by its members, which include manufacturers, rental companies, distributors, contractors and users. IPAF members operate a majority of the MEWP rental fleet worldwide and manufacture about 85% of platforms on the market.
The IPAF training programme for operators of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) has been certified by TÜV as conforming to ISO 18878. This helps deliver top-quality training on a consistent basis to meet industrial needs and safety requirements.
Class sizes are kept small and courses are usually completed within one or two days, depending on the type of equipment. Course content includes both theory and practice, with a written and a practical test.
Course participants who are successfully trained are awarded the PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), recognised across all industries as proof of the highest quality training for platform operators.
