Course Aim
This practical course provides delegates with the knowledge and hands-on skills required to safely inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair commercial UAVs in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practice.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for anyone responsible for the maintenance, inspection or management of commercial unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It is ideal for service engineers, workshop technicians, drone fleet managers, maintenance supervisors, emergency service UAV teams, construction and surveying companies, utility providers, defence support personnel, and agricultural drone operators looking to develop specialist maintenance and repair skills.
What You’ll Learn
During the course, delegates will gain an understanding of UAV construction, drone classifications and the aviation legislation that governs the safe operation and maintenance of commercial drones.
Practical training includes how to:
- Carry out pre-flight inspections and scheduled maintenance.
- Diagnose electrical faults and test batteries correctly.
- Inspect and replace motors, electronic speed controllers (ESCs), propellers and airframes.
- Safely update firmware and calibrate navigation systems.
- Perform post-repair testing to verify safe operation.
- Produce accurate maintenance records and supporting documentation.
By the end of the course, delegates will have the confidence and practical skills to maintain commercial UAVs safely, efficiently and in line with current industry best practice.
