F-TEC PASS OFSTED INSPECTION

F-TEC have recently passed the rigorous Ofsted inspection with a rating of Good. This is their first full inspection following the monitoring process.

F-TEC specialise in engineer training and apprenticeships. They currently have 63 apprentices. Twenty-two apprentices are studying the level 2 vehicle maintenance and repair framework and 41 apprentices are studying the level 3 lift truck and powered access engineering technician standard.

As an adult learning organisation and provider of apprenticeship training, they are required to be inspected by Ofsted. Their overall rating of Good is mirrored in the rating they received for individual aspects, all of which were rated Good; quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and apprenticeships.

As part of the inspection apprentices were questioned about their experience with F-TEC and the report gives the feedback from them as, “Apprentices display positive attitudes to their learning. They are enjoying studying their apprenticeships and say that it is challenging and rewarding. Apprentices are determined to succeed. They want to become skilled, qualified lift truck maintenance engineers in an industry that they are passionate about. Apprentices enthusiastically describe their immense satisfaction when they successfully diagnose and fix vehicle problems. Apprentices, including those with additional learning needs, feel well supported by trainers.

Apprentices routinely demonstrate the behaviours and attitudes they need to be successful at work. They develop vital knowledge, skills and behaviours that make them better at their job. Apprentices know that their employers value their skills. As a result of their apprenticeships, apprentices increase their confidence and resilience, and speak confidently to customers. Apprentices develop their fault finding and rectification skills and can identify faults accurately in lift trucks.

Apprentices build resilience as a result of living and working away from home for their off-the-job training. They also develop their independent living and social skills.”

Karl Baum, F-TEC Managing Director, says, “We are delighted to have received this rating and feeback. It is a real testament to the hard work and commitment of all the team here at F-TEC. This rating also gives employers and learners the confidence in our training programmes, knowing that we have been fully inspected and rated as Good.
