For many years, F-TEC has built its reputation by training engineers across the materials handling, powered access and industrial equipment sectors. As engineering continues to evolve, so too do the skills required by today’s workforce. The introduction of commercial UAV (drone) maintenance training represents a natural extension of F-TEC’s technical expertise.
Commercial drones are now widely used across a growing range of industries, including defence, emergency services, utilities, construction, surveying and agriculture. As fleets continue to expand, so does the demand for skilled technicians who can safely inspect, maintain and repair these increasingly sophisticated aircraft.
The new course is currently under development and will provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair commercial UAVs in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practice. Training will combine technical theory with practical, hands-on experience, preparing engineers to maintain drones safely and effectively in real-world environments.
The course also forms part of F-TEC’s proposal to support organisations within the Western Regional Defence & Security Cluster (WRDSC). By expanding into UAV maintenance training, F-TEC aims to help address the growing demand for specialist engineering skills across the defence and security sector, while opening new opportunities to support commercial organisations operating drone fleets.
Engineering is constantly evolving, and effective training needs to evolve with it.
