Subject material was made into the relevant depth for my knowledge needs

The subjects taught were relevant to my work, and the practical demonstrations helped relate to the theory. It was all made into the relevant depth for my knowledge needs. The instructor was brilliant, Kelvin managed to answer all questions fired at him. The PowerPoint printouts with space for the notes was great. The quality of the practical training was high. I don’t think it could be improved. Training was very useful and informative specially due to my previous limited knowledge.

Can’t find a fault with it

Taught very well and had great ways of demonstrating how the different parts work. Can’t find a fault with it. The instructor was great. Explained everything very well and answered every question in detail. Theoretical training and workshop activities cannot be improved. It was a very well taught subject and we had good tools to use equally balanced with classroom work.

The workshop activities were really helpful

The practical was good and helped me have a good understanding and how a transmission works. The theoretical training improved loads over the past year and is great with the videos and PowerPoints and making sure we all understand what is being taught. The work shop activities were really helpful so that you have a good visual idea of how everything works. The hotel was great rooms really cleans and the food was great every night no problems. Had a good week and was really interesting and have learnt quite a lot.

Very helpful for building a picture in my head of how forktrucks really work

The subjects were very helpful for building a picture in my head of how forktrucks really work. I found that learning about motors was helpful because there are many instances where AC and DC motors are used. It was also helpful learning about the link between magnetism and electricity. I am very interested in magnetism so I enjoyed that part. Dave was great at all subjects and explained very well when we had an issue. Maybe sometimes he could strip it back to the basics a bit more when needed however this wasn’t a big issue as the videos we watched helped to add more to what he explained.

The instructor was class. He literally knows everything!

All of it was all good to learn, I liked everything. The instructor was class. He literally knows everything! There was a lot of theory and lots of practical which is great.

The facilities are amazing

F-TEC is a fantastic training facility. All of the staff are great. The instructors are very good; you can ask them a question and they answer in a way I will understand. The test rigs and tools are high quality and maintained well, all facilities are clean and maintained to a high standard.

Dave was an excellent trainer who was thorough and enthusiastic throughout the whole week. He was very helpful, he has excellent knowledge and understanding and was very enthusiastic in helping and making sure we got it right. I would highly recommend Dave as he doesn’t leave any stone unturned.

Kelvin has a very large wealth of knowledge that he is able to pass down to all learners

The subjects taught to me by Kelvin were taught in a way that I understood. If there were things I couldn’t understand, they were taught differently so I could understand. With it being a 1-on-1 week, I was able to fly through some subjects I had full prior knowledge of and have detailed debates about things with Kelvin.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all my blocks at FTEC, with the teachers, the focus on the students, and the accommodation all being top class.
