Course Description<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This IPAF-certified PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) course is designed for individuals involved in the inspection, preparation, and familiarisation of MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) prior to delivery or handover. Whether you’re a service engineer, technician, or rental company operative, this course equips you with the knowledge and skills to ensure that machines are delivered to the highest safety standards.<\/p>\n

Delivered by experienced IPAF instructors, this hands-on course complies with IPAF and manufacturer guidelines and prepares participants to complete PDIs to a consistent and recognised industry standard.<\/p>\n

Aims<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • To ensure delegates can carry out a thorough and systematic Pre-Delivery Inspection of MEWPs in accordance with IPAF and manufacturer requirements.<\/li>\n
  • To increase awareness of machine safety, potential hazards, and the importance of documentation and compliance before handover to clients.<\/li>\n
  • To improve the standardisation of PDI procedures across the powered access industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Objectives<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    By the end of the course, participants will be able to:<\/p>\n

    • Identify the key components of a MEWP that must be checked during a PDI.<\/li>\n
    • Correctly perform a Pre-Delivery Inspection using IPAF checklists.<\/li>\n
    • Recognise and report faults, defects, or potential safety issues.<\/li>\n
    • Ensure that all required documentation and machine settings are in place before delivery or handover.<\/li>\n
    • Understand the legal and safety implications of inadequate PDIs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Introduction to IPAF and the importance of PDIs<\/li>\n
      • Responsibilities of PDI personnel and duty of care<\/li>\n
      • Overview of MEWP types (scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.)<\/li>\n
      • Walkaround inspection methodology<\/li>\n
      • Functional and safety system checks<\/li>\n
      • Checking machine documentation (manuals, certificates, decals, etc.)<\/li>\n
      • Common defects and how to address them<\/li>\n
      • Correct completion of PDI checklists and records<\/li>\n
      • Pre-delivery configuration, settings, and customer requirements<\/li>\n
      • Assessment: Practical and\/or written knowledge test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Certification<\/strong><\/h3>\n
