{"id":1186,"date":"2019-04-01T11:02:31","date_gmt":"2019-04-01T11:02:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f-tec.org.uk\/?p=1186"},"modified":"2022-03-28T15:14:44","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T14:14:44","slug":"the-next-generation-of-engineers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f-tec.org.uk\/f-tec-staging\/the-next-generation-of-engineers\/","title":{"rendered":"The next generation of engineers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">\nOn Saturday 30<sup>th<\/sup>\nMarch, an elite group of young engineers graduated in front of a\ncapacity crowd at the Telford International Centre for the 25<sup>th<\/sup>\nFLTA Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">From\nthe graduating class of seven, four were in attendance to collect\ntheir <strong>Level 4 Certificate in\nAdvanced Automotive Studies for Master Technicians<\/strong>\nfrom television host Mark Durden-Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">F-TEC\n\u2014 the Forklift Training Engineering Centre \u2014 is an organisation\nclosely involved with the FLTA and BITA. It offers those interested\nin the industry the opportunity to develop their knowledge of\nengineering methods using the latest,\nhigh-quality equipment at the\ncutting-edge facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">\nThe\nLevel 4 course focuses on advanced diagnostics and is designed to\nalign traditional methods with state-of-the-art technologies. It\ngives engineers a thorough understanding of vehicle systems \u2014\nenabling them to diagnose problems faster and with greater certainly\nthan using fault codes alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">For\nthe employer that means higher efficiency and profitability \u2014\nthrough a far higher hit-rate for \u201cfirst time fixes\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">Katherine\nRoberts, who represented F-TEC at the ceremony said: \u201cThis years\u2019\ngraduates are\namong a small handful of engineers throughout the UK to achieve this\ncertificate. They have demonstrated the advanced levels\nof technical knowledge, practical skills and sheer tenacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur\napprentices have\nthe talent, imagination, and dedication to progress into the\nindustry\u2019s most senior roles.
